Teen Transition Career Fair draws crowd (photo gallery, video)
Students and teachers from schools throughout the Birmingham area gathered March 16 for Teen Transition Career Fair 2016.
The half-day event was sponsored by the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Exceptional Education Department and Career Technical Program of Bessemer City Schools. More than 300 students flocked to the Bessemer Civic Center to learn about a number of career options at some 90 exhibit booths.
Exhibitors included the Social Security Administration (PASS Program), United Way of Central Alabama, American Red Cross, Girls Inc. of Central Alabama, Children’s Harbor, Full Life Ahead, The Horizons School, Alabama Partners for Clean Air, The Exceptional Foundation, Easter Seals of Birmingham, the Arc of Jefferson County, the Arc of Shelby County, Home Depot, Mercedes Benz, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Triumph Services, Workshops Inc., Regions Bank, Go Build Alabama, the Personnel Board of Jefferson County, Jacksonville State University, Lawson State Community College, Miles College, University of South Alabama, Buffalo Rock, and a variety of others.
